offcam

07 / about

the movement came first.

offcam is a movement before it is an app: we get our best ideas offcam, and we're done performing to publish them.

the app is the movement's tool. this page is about who's holding the wrench.

where offcam comes from

offcam started in a car. its founder was living on hawaiʻi island, driving long distances most days, and the ideas kept arriving mid-drive, the way they do. no desk, no studio, no time to script.

the recording app caught them and buried them. no transcript, no titles, no way to turn three good minutes of talking into anything. the friction between inspiration and creation was enormous, and the ideas that didn't survive it just disappeared.

offcam is the tool that was missing: a recorder that hands back a transcript, angles, drafts, and a video, and a vault for the sparks, dreams, and raw thoughts that deserve to outlive the drive.

create for yourself first. the audience finds the truth. they don't create it.

the offcam credo

the man behind it

offcam is built by paul heldt, founder of voyanix: twenty-five years of building digital products, an award for documentary editing, a resume with enterprise names on it. none of it mattered in the car.

credentials don't remove friction. the right tool does.

the organization

offcam is made by voyanix llc, a small product studio in hawaiʻi. voyanix also makes main character saga.
